Time Away

I had the opportunity to get away with four amazing women. We all get together once a month for dinner, bonded by adoption, and we always have such a fun time.

The family of one of the ladies has a beach home in Emerald Isle, and she graciously extended the invitation for us to spend the weekend there.

The weather was cool and rainy just like it was back home, but that was okay. All we wanted to do was stay in our pajamas all day, drink coffee, eat, and TALK. In fact, when I spoke to Big Girl over the phone Saturday night and told her we had stayed in the house ALL day and talked, only leaving to go eat dinner, she was like "Really??" Hahaha...mama fun and kid fun do have some differences, don't they?

Yesterday, on our way home, we stopped in Swansboro for some window shopping. We took our milkshakes/root beer/coffee on the back deck of a store and enjoyed the sun (that finally peeked out!), the water, and the porpoises.

These are some really great, encouraging gals who were so easy to be around. Just comfy. :) I look forward to our next "retreat", whenever that is!

But coming home to my family that missed me was just as wonderful. Big hugs from my girls, big kisses from Honey, and a comment from Honey that "everything just seems right when we are all back together again." I happen to agree!
